ive had my escort about a year now and dnt really wanna drive it over the winter so am gunaa leave it in a garage, what should i do to make sure its ok when it comes bk out?? regarding coolant? oil? tyres? interior? thanks for any advoce.

definitely try and get it up on axle stands to stop you returning in the spring to find you have tyres with massive flatspots

drain coolant, leave on axle stands, spray some wd40 into teh fuel tank will stop moisture building up, fuel stabiliser is a good idea, and a nice cover!

also dont forget to disconnect battery or trickle charge, and make sure you leave handbreak off!

When I take the cabby off the road over winter, all I do is leave the handbrake off with the car in 3rd gear, leave the rear windows down very slightly to stop any condensation from building up inside and pump the tyres up a little (around 40psi mark).

Don't even disconnect the battery. All I do when getting it back out on the road is to crank the engine over with the coil lead low-tension side disconnected until I get oil pressure (and fuel as it is a carb model) and then it starts straight away.

It gets dragged out the garage, tyres pressures rechecked and used .

No need to even recharge the battery either but then mine does sit in a carpeted garage with a breathable outside car cover on it (Classic Additions one)

I have had the clutch stick to the flywheel once though, but that can happen regardless of other storage precautions.
