Im fitting a zetec ecu into my mk4 escort can anyone tell me which wires i need out of the loom that connected to the original car as it would be a handy start. Im ok with the sensors for the engine etc but i need to wire the ecu itself do these sound about right?

ignition live
water temp gauge
4amp ignition live
earth from fuel pump *RELAY*
4amp perminant live
earth
revcounter
Any others?

Its a Escort loom if anyones up on colors I know i can get my loom done for me but would like to give it a go lol

 

black = 4amp ignition live
red = 4amp perminant live
brown/wite = earth
green = revcounter
black/red = fuel pump live
i then have five brown wires
are these summat to do with pats ,,the ones im missing from the guide is
black/green = ignition live
brown/green = water temp gauge

this is wat you need to wire from the 12 pin plug to the car to get it to run
1=brown=earth to body
2=green=rev counter
3=brown=fuel pump relay earth
4=black=4amp ignition live
5=black/red..to..black/green=iscv
6=red=ecu power from battery or fuse box
7=brown/green=not used
8=black/green=iscv ignition live
9=brown/white=temp guage
10=blank
11=blank
12=brown=not used

These are for two differen't zetec looms, i'm guessing which ever one has the same wires you use. I'll email a similar picture to what you posted the other day, it might help.
I found the info after looking through 30 pages on a mk2 fiesta site. ;-(

Cheers i too have been reading so many sites looking for a guide, my escort loom has the 2 round plugs for the engine / fuel sensors but the guy who removed it chopped all the other plugs off so i need somewhere to start
