oil seperator/breather system help
Hi All,
Would it be better to use an oil breather and a catch tank or just the catch tank with a breather filter, As my catch tank only has 2x outlets could i use a T-piece to connect my 2x breathers to the one outlet on the catch tank and fit a breather filter to the other outlet. Ive done a search on here but cannot find any info but have noticed a few people just use a catch tank on its own and no breather, i have both but if i can use just the catch tank on its own i would prefer it that way.
Cheers
Si

An mfi setup has a pipe that runs to the metering unit to suck the excess away instead of breathing to atmosphere via a breather.
Efi setup noramaly breaths to amosphere via a small filter or you can plumb it into a vacum with a little one way valve like the one on your brake servo pipe so you dont push boost through the engine.
So yes you can put a t piece and 2 hoses to one outlet and then a breather into atmosmphere. you will get small ammount of brething in the engine bay with small smell of oil in the car this way.
