Default fiesta turbo back firring

the wife`s frst has run trouble free for the past year or so then yesterday we were driving home and it lost all power.turn out the end of the plug lead had broken off so were manage to get home on just 3 cyclinders.she had a spare set at home so i`v put them on today{not sure if there any good or not as they were with a box of stuff she got with car} but car is still not right had plugs out and they were black has coal so i cleaned them put them back in started car again still back firing and not running properly got the plugs out again all black.when just the ignation is on it sounds like the fuel pump relay is missing and not constantly running could this be the problem or is it more likley tobe the plug lead?

I would try a new plug certainly in the cylinder that was missing to start with, as a fuel soaked plug is unlikely to work properly after that.
