There Is No Spring At All In My 99 Focus Gearstick
When In Neutral If You Move Gearstick It Doesnt Spring Back Also Making It Hard To Select Gear

 

Ford sells the spring for it. Its a common fault in focus's. You have to lift out the centre console and put it in from the top. Its a bit fiddly, take a good look at the way the old one is lying in it before you take it out.
