Fiesta has a different head design for the inlet manifold and also has a hole in the block for the crank position sensor. You can use the fiesta in the escort with an adapter plate for the Ke-jet inlet manifold.

Well at the moment I have an EFI XR3i. I am going to do an RS Turbo conversion this winter but trying to get hold of fiesta turbo engine's isnt easy so was just wondering if I could get an escort lump and use my EFI inlet etc on it.

If that makes sense!

Or would it be as easy just got change to MFI?

i have read somewhere the only difference in the integrals of the block are the pistons, for lower compression, the turbo doesnt have steel rods as standard. hope this helps.

fiesta hasnt got the same turbo as well. The escort has a T3 and the fiesta uses a T2 because of space issues. but you can still use the T3 if you can find the space.

If youre taking an efi xr3i engine out take the head off and its the same as the fiesta rs turbo one so you can use your inlet although the injectors and i'd imagine the throtal body are differant.
From what ive been told the internals are the same between the escort and fiesta you just need the hole for the crank position senser which you can have put into an escort block there was a tread some time ago where some one had made a template for the hole position i cant remember who it was though try doing a search for it.
hope that helps mark.
