Default Anti theft system help......urgent!

On a mk6 escort if the red light under the clock stays illuminated does this mean the system is activated i.e will prevent the starter motor turning over?

With the doors unlocked as normal I have ignition lights but the engine wont turn over, The dash lights dim slightly when I try start it. It will start with a push though which I thought shouldn't happen....confused.

the car will still turn over with imob on just wont start, sounds more like battery problem or starter.Try a 12v feed to the starter exciter terminal.

Normally I would have come to the same conclusion but the problem only started after the battery was disconnected for a half hour to reset the ecu

Next time just pull the KAM fuse a violet 3 amp job as this is the memory one for the ecu.
Usually the pats just stops the ignition, did on mine anyway, when it went for a swim.
