Default Dif between Focus RS headgasket + .....

Just wondering if anyone has used a focus rs headgasket on their zetec turbo conversion??

are there any differences between the gaskets that would prevent it from being used??

cheers

If I remember correctly, the Focus RS HG is the same as a normal 2L zetec, at 0.7mm thick.. The ST170 one, is apparently 1.0mm thick. Apparently, perhaps.

Focus RS gasket is the same as any other 2.0 blacktop gasket (3-layer) at ~0.6mm apart from the ST170 gasket which has a thick 4th layer and thus totals to around 1.0mm. The silver top gaskets are not metal multilayer gaskets and are by no way as thin as the newer blacktop gaskets.

JesseT- are you sure that applies to the 2L silver top? I've seen 1.6 and 1.8 early engines with the composite gaskets, but never on a 2L.

Depends on what you're trying to achieve.

Depends for which gasket thickness your bottom end is built for.

pa sjo: Can't be 100% sure. Mine came with one when I opened it, but I can't remember if it was a Ford original gasket.

Well then you have no clearance issues

If you're going for 300bhp or less, i'm sure the CR you get with the 0.7mm gasket would be fine with those pistons.
