i am looking for some info on the cvh turbo lump
is there anyway of checking if an engine is a low comp or standard
was thinking on the lines of a compression test but if the reading was low might meen a fault with an engine component or does a low comp engine produce a lower compression reading
i must state the engine is in the car running and is stated tobe a rebuilt low comp engine but no paper work as all paperwork was in a leather folder which went missing when it was broken into and the car does come with a spare pass side glass tobe fitted
this is another series 2 i am looking to buy ,done all the standard checks and the car is loaded with engine mods as stated which i have confirmed myself and found tobe true ie cam,turbo,ecu,breather system,fueling,actuator and ignition but when it comes to the engine being low comp i am puzzled unless i strip it and take measurements and i am sure he want let me do that

if the piston has a bowl in the centre (i.e. low comp) then it's feasable you could measure the top of piston through spark plug hole...compare it to standard and if it's a longer distance it's conceivable that the piston bowl is lower meaning lower comp than std.

You could also whip the sump off and have a look at the underside of the pistons, if they say a manufacturer or codes on them it might shed some light to the situation.
