I've just bought a second hand gearbox which I'm told has a Quaife LSD in it, how do I check? I know its got an LSD in it (not that stupid ) but how can I tell if its a Quaife? It doesnt look like any of the standard box's I've had in the past.

Yeah mate id say it does. Hole looks smalller than normal like my old one.

Yes thats a non standard diff

Can you measure (with a drill bit or some thing) the diameter of the small hole, can check to see if it is the beveled pre load washer found in a quaife then!

i thought another way to identify a quaife atb diff is a spiral groove running inside the driveshaft hole ????.

The small hole is about 12/13mm if that helps.

My mate's just looked at ya pics and he said its def a non standard diff. He's just been and looked at a vtr box with a quaife in.
