Default Zakspeed Cosworth Capri

Hi

does anyone have experience of cosworth overhead valve V6 engines?

we have an original Zakspeed capri engine in the workshop, it's been stripped and the guys are basically restoring back to original. As part of the rebuild new big endbolts will be fitted but they are not available here in Germany. (imperial size)

the bolts are probably Whitworth, (guess) I don't know the exact size. (I can only measure metric here)

Can anyone suggest where to get new bolts?
does anyone have new bolts?
does anyone have details of the sizes?

cheers

Kenny.

The engine Cosworth GAA is based on an Essex block so Essex big-end bolts just might work.
Burton power seems to offer some ARP bolts for the essex (part# FL246). They are 3/8"UNFx1.75".

Thanks for the feedback, however I'm not confident that the engine is based on the Essex, reason; I called Burton Power and they advised me to call Cosworth direct due to the fact that they had no experience with the engine type.

The Engine model is,
3.4Ltr V6 MM1/GA 145.
There are two sizes of bolt,
the first size is 2.25"
the second size is 3.25" (thread size unknown)

I couldn't get through to Cosworth for some reason, I'll try again.

Bttt

you could also send an e-mail to Norm at blitz@teamblitz.com. He should be able to direct you.

That being said why not get the specs of the bolt you need and contact ARP fasteners?
