picked up my new s2 last weekend , when i collected it i was told by the previous owner he had turned the boost down for better fuel econamy on the way down through scotland , the day after i got the car i noticed there was a slight little end rattle so whipped the engine out and fitted a spare i had . im now thinking he turned the boost down because he had blown it to fook ! problem i have now is what do i reset the boost to ? he has removed the amal valve altogether and fitted a bleed valve car is currently reading 0.4 bar with my spec engine what should i safely set it at and which way do you turn the screw ?
the engine spec is as follows - rebuilt 1.6 cvh piper 285t cam kit , hybrid t3 ,-31 , mongoose , k&n cone and ahmed bayjoo chipped ecu .
any ideas would be great guys thanks

 

Mine is running same spec as yours minus the cam and i run 15psi, but av had mine on RR to be set up. I would recomend you take yours to be set up properly mate saves any costly mistakes.(anti-clockwise to raise boost if you fancy it )

 

Webby, I bought your old S2 (E35 BHK) off you and had that set up with a big front mount intercooler to run 22psi. Running more boost will transform the car, just get it done by a tuner you trust (MSD are on your doorstep virtually )
