Default "Grp A" Coil question . . .

What do you do with the two wires that plug into the standard coil?

The Group A coil has four flat leads - do you use just two of the connectors? Or split into four?

Thanks!

As Mr Cossie 4x4 said, have you people using these coils noticed any improvements? I'm thinking about upgrading the ignition on my cossie, am just wondereing if its worth it.

I also apologise for jumping on your thread.

Well I put the coil on and drove it tonight - it does seem to pull harder now and smoother in acceleration, also seems to boost quicker. In my car it is an improvement. I'd say it's worth it.

cheers

Less chance of the spark being blown out with the Group A coil...

DazC, thats the problem i've got at the mo. I having to gap the plugs to .4 of mm to stop it happening so i might invest in a group A coil.

.4mm?

No, you need to fix the problem TBH mate, and you deffo DO have one.

Unless of course the problem "IS" your coil, then it may fix it

.4mm? Are your leads ok? Have you got good voltage to the coil? A Group A coil is a worth while investment anyway.

As said didnt notice an amazing difference BUT its more a peice of mind that they geenrate a better spark than standard thus reducing the chance of miss fireing due to a weak spark, for the price its worth the peice of mind

Are the two pairs on the Grp A coil two positives and two negatives or is there one of each on both posts. Just bought one too and dont know how to wire it.

When i bought it the guy told me you have to buy a special mini loom with a relay in it to get the full benefit of it :-( Didnt tell me that until afterwards though!

Both on 1 are posi, both on the other are neg, ive just cut the push on connectors off and used insulated spades on mine on 1 of each and it works fine, if you get a proper conector that can fit too both and make it water tight it would obviously be better but havnt noticed any problems as of yet!
