yeah it can be done, but you need to use a std DOHC MT75 and transfer the bellhousing to a 4x4 cosworth one. So that the starter is in the same place and also get the propshaft sorted to suit.

So thats it basically no hidden catches, just bolt the mt75 onto a 4wd bellhousing and it will sit up intop place ????
What power is the mt75 gearbox good for, car will be running about 300 bhp, if i thought there was no chance of it taking any abuse then i would pay the extra money for a T5 box, the only thing is that my mate has 2 mt75 boxes which can be bought very cheap...
am i wasting my time thinking of using the mt75 ??????

Sorry to drag an old thread back to life, thought it better than starting a new one?
I'm thinking of useing a YB with a 2WD MT75 box in my Capri.
I'm just not clear on the DOHC MT75 gearbox, all MT75 2WD boxes look like they dont have seperate bell housings, How do you change it for the 4x4 type?
Does the DOHC MT75 box have a seperate bell housing?
Also with the MT75 box being based largly on the type 9, would that mean it would fit straight swap with no extra work, I'm looking at the MT75 because the T5 box is longer and makes for alot more work to fit in a Capri.
Found this... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SIERRA-2-9-V6-...item5ad508db91
that sounds like when you useing the MT75 with a pinto you have to use a 4x4 box and leave front drive unused?
Thanks!
