Right, I decided not to take the cam out, so i re-assembled everything and torqued everything back up. The battery was flat so jumed it and the tapping was horrendous, much worse than before and constant rather than the odd knock. I believe i've fucked up. Now have got absolutely no idea what to do.

 

how about getting a video up or a sound clip for us?

 

dont panic steve, since you have only really disturbed the tappets (i know the rockers have been aswell) its now more than likely that the tappets are the problem.some or all may not be pressurizing properly now.
options at this stage seem to be
1 new hydraulic tappets
2 new hydraulic tappets and cam.

seeing as your head is modified then a new cam and tappet set possibly with soild lifters
but i dont know how much noise they make
someone else on here may have better information.

but either way at a minimium it looks to me like new tappets.

 

Ok cheers, but, i thought it was not wise to just change the tappets without changing the cam?
