Hi all, My voltmeter gauge has stopped working on my escort cosworth, i have checked fuses and they are getting a live on both ends of fuse, i have also changed the relay but this hasnt helped.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this working???

I had the same problem about a month ago & it was the relay on the main fusebox for the voltmeter, put a new one in & its been perfect since. From what i can remember it was a yellow relay on the right of the fusebox i think it was the second relay down from the top right corner as you look at it.
Hope this helps,
Graham

Thanks for the replys guys.

Kjc300 - Cheers for the diagram mate but it goes straight over my head, if i knew the colours of the wires and where they go in/out of the fusebox then id probably be able to check them.

escossie - I already checked the yellow relay and replaced it with 3 others but still no joy, im also a live on one of the pins, but thanks for the advice mate.

Forgot to mention that both the boost and oil pressure gauges work fine, so it might be the gauge itself. Paid Ł300 for a brand new fusebox in the hope this would sort out my electrical problems.

Anymore help would be gratefully appreciated,

Thanks, Lee

Check fuse 2

Check fuse 19

you've already checked/swapped the relay

The wire colours are labelled on the diagram, however easy way to check.....

Remove centre pod

get the plug with the 5 wires

with a multimeter set to volts, put one probe on the RED wire (pin 1), and the other probe on the BROWN wire (pin 2)

switch on ign to pos II or start the car, doesn't matter.

you should have 12v or 14v depending on what you did.

This will check if you have power to the gauge.

Are you sure you changed the correct relay as the diagram i had showed it on the top left of the fusebox but it was on the top right second relay down.
