efi turbo...splutter on boost???

Unhappy efi turbo...splutter on boost???

fiesta turbo efi engine in my mates escort....... running fine starts fine etc but when its boosting it coughs and splutters and holds back where as on light throttle if you build the power up very slowly it will boost ALOT better. any ideas guys? help appreciated

turn the boost down may be running to much boost for what the ecu is chipped for. check plug gaps you may be blowing out the spark.

ive turned the boost down already but it still seems the same. have changed the injectors too

I'd check coil pack, plugs and leads next i think sounds to me like a weak spark.

Says he's put it in an Escort, so if MK4 external pump but 5> internal.. MFi fuel pump runs higher pressure than EFI so i'm sure it'll be ok unless the pumps duff of course...

Interested to know the outcome though as mine's doing something a bit similar.

Don't you need beiges for 190?Or am i wrong on this?

i dont know. this is why i have posted this thread. my own car is mfi, never really had much to do with efi

if u have a 195 chip then as far as im aware u should be running bieges and commonly t3?

its defo got t3 on it yeah. mmmmm looks like need standard chip then as my mate is happy with standard power. when the car was bought it was a bit mix matched i think. think the running problem is why the guy sold it.

the chip just unplugs to run standard set up, but then you will need a t2 and blue injectors for it to match and fuell correctly

so theres is no need to replace with a standard chip?? just unplug the upgraded one?

yes, but your engine will fuel wrong due to the t3 conversion

IT HAD BOSCH SUPER4 PLUGS IN IT. TOOK THEM OUT AND PUT NGKs IN IT......WE PUT THE CHIP BACK IN IT....STILL GOT A T3 ON IT AND THE ORIGINAL BLUE INJECTOR AND THE THING FLIES!!!! WOO HOO.....MAYBE NOW IL GET PEASE TO GET MY OWN PROJECTS DONE HAHAHAHAHAHA
