Sierra fuel system question
OK chaps, help and advice required so I can get my car running.
Basically, it's a 1991 XR4x4 but the tank had a big hole in it (downside of buying a complete car from the scrappy nowadays!) so I've taken the mix and match approach using an old-style petrol tank and external pump from a 1989 XR4x4.
However, the 1989 pump has seized so I've got a replacement from a Cosworth (thanks Dan!) which has a different (larger) thread so won't take the pressure regulator screwed onto the end of the 89 pump.
Given that there is a regulator screwed to the engine, does it really need this one, or can I just do away with it completely?
For nosiness, the original 2.8 XR4i used a fuel accumulator in the same bracket as the pump (the slot I now use for a filter) - what was the accumulator for?
