Default WASO Serpi Star Alarm query

Hi everyone, just wonderin if you can help me with this one, on my Escort mk5 which is my daily runner i've got a Waso Serpi Star alarm which i'm guessin was an optional extra from Ford cuz i did have one on my Xr3i before changing it for a Clifford, anyways my question is if i want to change the battery on my car & in the key pad for the alarm itself, is there anything i should i do beforehand??? With the Clifford you put it in valet mode, now i know the Waso is not as advanced but i assume it would be logical to just make sure the alarm is disarmed? Obviously what i dont want is to disconnect the battery then the alarm go crazy when i re-connect it! i just wondered if anyone has had any experiences with doing this, cheers!

I know when I bought my car it has a SERPI STAR fitted, the onlybinfo I managed to find out was it was not worth having!!
It was faulty, and going all the time it was connected, so ripped it off and put a Toad on it.

Id change the one in the fob first, check it still works then change the car battery but make sure youve got the keys in your pocket as some cars lock them selves when you reconnect the battery.

Hi ive had two of these alarms and both have locked the doors when disconecting/reconecting the cars battery. So keep your keys in your pocket.Everything else should be ok.As for the key fob battery thats ok to change whenever....Hope this helps.
