Default Interior and engine fan wont run?

As topic says interior fan and engine fan wont run so I checked the fuse as they share the same on a 4x4 Sapphire.

Turned out it had blown the 25A fuse so I replaced it with a 30A according to the undeside of the fuse box lid.

Now when I turn the interior fans on nothing happens, voltage drops a bit though as if the fan was running or trying to run. (siezed/jammed?)

Strange bit though is that radiator fans don't work either?

I dont get it, if the interior fan is jammed or got some other fault how come the radiator fans wont start? Do they share someting else than the fuse? Could it be the fan resistor?

same prob i had on my FRST a while ago, but changing the fuse sorted it. not sure if the relay is shared or not, but on the fiesta and all the FRST i come across it seem to "burn" 1 of the contacts, so taking it out and scrapping it over with a knife and putting it back sorts it out, may be same for you??

from what i can see fuse 18 does the heater fan and its also tied in to the aircon if fitted and thats all.the cooling fans are controled by a relay or possibly two relays which are located beside the ecu/abs shelf and hidden just above where the tunnel meets the lower facia, the are about 10 relays in a bracket custer and each one has a fuse beside it,try looking there

4x4 cossie radiator fans run from a black 40A relay in the fusebox - roughly in the centre of the fusebox slightly towards the front where the 2 rows of fuses are. the wiring to this relay has a habit of melting around the fusebox area.

the interior blower is not connected with the radiator fans in any way.

has your car been sitting for a while? there is a 3 stage resistor for the interior blower mounted in the centre of the blower assembly. this could've corroded, as could the conections to it and the earth. take off the black air inlet that is between the bonnet and windscreen, and unbolt the bulkhead panel in front of the blower motor and check it all out.

easy way to check ur fans work,(or dont) pull connector off rad temp sensor and short with horsheshoe nail. Even with igniton off fans should instantly whiz round. if they dont then rad blocked with crud/ wiring faulty/some other fault. but u must make sure ur fans work a.s.a.p. very important if ur stuck in traffic.Dont discount bottom of rad being full of crud.(These cars are OLD! ).This stops the temp sender seein rad is hot and fans dont come on.Get engine hot and if rad is cold at bottom, and round temp sender (should be warm ) then need you need new rad son!.
