Default suspenion on a mk 2 fez

I have odds and ends of mk1 and 2 suspension parts and mk3 escort and mk4 escort, all brand new and id like to make the best of what i have to make a fair setup for a mk2 normal model sporting a 1900cvh for good road use on country roads and flat roads with twisty bends.

Heres what i have;

1 x mk1 xr2 front spring measuring 10.5 inches tall - Boge
1 x escort xr3i front spring measuring 11.5 inches tall - Boge
2 x mk3 escort heavy duty rear springs measuring 9.5 inches tall - Boge
1 x mk2 non xr2 front shock absorber (oil filled) - Monroe
1 x mk2 non xr2 rear shock abosorber (turbo gas) - Boge

Obviously the ones i have single of i can get the other one to match at a dirt cheap price, the above was all free so just be good to use it and make the best of it as it would only go for scrap ( i hate to see stuff for fords get chucked ).

So come on tell me what you reckon, i dont mind chopping the springs to suit as i know the heights are quite high!

The mk1 xr2 front spring looks a stronger spring than the xr3i front spring.

The mk3 rear spring are heavy duty and look a very strong spring.

Will the mk1 suspension mis-match with the mk2 suspension, i.e mk1 struts on a mk2, mk2 struts with mk1 springs?
If im right are the mk1 front struts different to the mk2, or just the top mounts?

Can get brand new mk1 xr2 front springs and struts if they fit!!

From my previous experience, a mk2 understeers when thrown into a bend hard so would a softer front end get rid of this with a stronger rear. I found that my last xr2 (paul woodfords current one) was really soft at the back untill i changed the setup.

Any way put your ideas on a post card and let me know. Have your say to see what you can do with standard parts!!!!!!
