Default cosworth abs

i've got a 4x4 cosworth and i was just wondering if it's all right to take the abs off and just run with standerd brake master cylinders

My mate has a 4x4 cossie and he said his abs is nackered on his car. He said he was gonna just take it all out and put a normal system in.

which bit is broke, replacement bits are cheap as chips on ebay, it could be the controller which is a quick swap...cost only a few pounds and could solve it.

aim just looking to take mine out for more room but aim not shore if it will work alright with big brakes

Bear in mind with a 'standard' servo it's got only a tiny percentage of the assistance provided by the electro-hydraulic Teves system that's there already.

Also, if you remove it, you'll have to stick it back on, and make sure it works come MOT time, unless you have a 'friendly' tester...

If you've got a problem with it, it's worth tracing and fixing the fault purely so that your ABS works. I have several guides for testing/diagnosis on the Teves mk2 system - let me know if you'd like a copy.

For the mot if the abs system isnt there to test and its got a normal servo it will pass.
