Default st170 dis lever?????

right guys...my dads got an st170 on a 52 plate. on the inlet manifold there is a cable which comes from a box on the bulkhead. its connected to whats called "dis lever" ive heard there is a comon fault where the pin snaps off this. this happended to my dads and i have replaced it with pumaspeeds billet alloy one. now when you start the car initially the box on the bulkhead clicks/knock for three to four seconds and the engine managment light comes on. according to my code reader its sayin the inlet manifold runner guides (or something along that lines) stuck open....

has anyone had this problem after replacing the dis lever and what is the remady........??

the box you mention on the bulkhead is at fault.

will require a new one to rectify, Ford modified the unit after 52 to try and help the breakages.

Was it that box that was at fault.

£132 with trade discount inclusive of v.a.t.

when the pin brakes off the lever it causes the motor to pull the cable back in too far and brakes a internal part of the motor......

i have replaced the lever with a billet alloy one so as not to have the same problem in future
