Default speedo cable

Hi fellas.
Can anyone tell me how to disconnect the speedo cable from the back of the clocks. ive got it all in bits but cant seperate the cable connection from the back of the clocks.
The needle on the speedo is bouncing around all over the place and the mileage isnt changing!!!!!
Cheers.
Muffster.

Default speedo cable

"what car"
Yep, fair point mate, that would help!!!
Its a sapphire cos. There is a metal connection on the end of the cable and some sort of plastic holder which all fits onto the the back of the speedo. It looks like a push fit or a bayonet connection but i cant seperate them and dont want to f**k the clocks up.
Thanks.
Muffster.
