Default Coolent problems Fiesta Zetec-S!!

right its a bit of a long story so il keep it as short as i can. firsty i found a coolent leak a few weeks ago which i sourced to be a nakered gasket and o-ring in my thermostat and housing. so i changed both these and re-fitted, all seemed well for a week untill my car overheated whilst i was driving home. i let her cool down and trickled the last mile home. a day later i found this again to be leaking coolent from the housing. so took it apart to find both gasket and o-ring ruined again. i fitted new ones again last night and now no leaks. but i did discover that my cap on my water tank was nakered. i ran the car for a little while to get the air out of it, but everytime i revved the engine the water level raised to the point of overflowing from the tank. now is this normal? or is it my headgesket thats fuked? also something else that i spotted which might/might not be causing problems is that my Heater Control Valve seems to be nakered aswell, as hot water get up as far as the valve but the pipes behind it never warm up and i get no hot air coming out of my vents?!

im really unsure what all this could mean, could it be the HCV causing problems or is it a headgasket or non of the above? any help would be appreciated thanks!!

how would i bleed it "properly"? i warmed up the engine with the cap off. and squeesed all the pipes i could. is there something else i should be doing. and not a lot of antifreeze in there just a mix of what i didnt bleed out as all iv filled it up with is water (didnt have any antifreeze handy)

would this make much of a difference?
