A friend of mine is having trouble getting his fiesta into 1st 2nd & 4th gear, the only gears he can get is 3rd & 5th and sometimes reverse, my first thoughts was gear linkage had moved.

Has anyone any ideas, also how do u adjust the gear linkage?

Unlikely to be the linkage to be honest, but to adjust it you'd be best off following the haynes manual method.

Dont know, weren't my car and the owner isn't bothering as yet, and instead getting his 2i on the road

 

It will be the selector or synchro's inside the box i bet
