Default dial lights.

i have RS2000 stlye white dials in my mk6 and as you know when you put the lights on it illuminates green. i want to change this either have blue or red depends on my mood at the time but how do i do this as i dont know how, can i just take out the green filter plastic and stick colored bulbs in or what????

and how do i get the filter plastic out too.

This is something I have done in the past on other cars, the filters are there obviously to colour the light, you can remove the filters by gently drilling off thier attachment points, then as you say use coloured bulbs, or just use clear bulbs painted with JARROLDS GLASS PAINT, about £4 a tin, and works ace but do need to let it dry for 24 hours as bottle says.
This way you can get all manner of colours and have a play about.

oh okay, thanks tabetha, but do i need to get specific bulbs that will fit in the guages? and where would i find them?

NO just the std bulbs and paint!!
I imagine they are std wedge bulbs(capless) 2.4W ?, best check first.
