ive got a 1.8 zetec xr2i there is a little black plug/computer thing above the brake sevo. wot this called think i need a new 1??

it dsid have a cover on it but it as cum of its lyk jelly underneath

Not really, or then you would have #1 bad as well. It's about 100Ł for a new one and about 30Ł for a used one.

 

As stated above if 4 is bad so will 1. Check the fuel side of things, dirty injector plug connection etc.

 

got it running with a slight miss but needs cipton tunning.

 

whats cipton tuning? if its on 4 now but stil rough on idle especially get some plugs and especially leads on it, make sure you put some vasaline round the bottom of the leads

for anyone who doesnt know, this is when some idiot who doesnt have a clue about cars come round and basically set your engine to the settings it would have had from (factory)day one lol when new
so what this then means if you have had any mods fitted or say youre engine is on 120000 miles it will run like a bag of spanners (being polite) due to not being setup for the car and mods/mileage
could also make it lean or pink etc... you get the idea then BANG

lol is there anything even adjustable on zetecs? think even the tps is fixed?
