Default 4x4 power steering problem

my saph has been stood for a few months cos the power steering pump went. got a rack and changed that too but for some reason the steering keeps going hard and won't return to centre when you go round a corner. i'm now stuck for idea's and would be grateful for any input. cheers jono

Sounds like you may have a binding rack, which can also make the pump go kapput!!

i have tried 2 racks and 3 pumps and still no joy. the pump seems to be working and so does the rack but the steering goes light for a bit and then goes really heavy. surely i can't have 2 binding racks?
