Hydraulic lifters...Bulging???...Anyone know why..
Hi All,
A quick question re hydraulic lifters (CVH engine)....I still have issues with my car that spits back large quantities of fuel at 5500rpm....Having recently looked under the rocker cover, I noticed one of the lifters (cylinger 2 inlet) had buldged on the thin metal cap that hold the lifter together (hope that makes sense).....Having replaced it, It's not done exactly the same to the one I replaced!......
So question is....what could cause this.....The lifters are supplied from piper and are the so called anti pump, but they all feel very hard (when trying to compress the end touching the rocker)....
I'm certain the valve is not touching the piston, but was wondering how the followers are pumped, and could this have anything to do with it?....Anyway, any info on this much appreciated.
Thanks
Paul.
