Any electronic component is capable of being dodgy just at times, eg if it has a dry joint, that will do it.
Any boost induced misfire is very likely to be lack of sparks due to bad coil as this is the hardest time to generate spark due to the cylinder pressure, the higher it is the harder it is to spark for the plug the more voltage it needs.

Thanks... I dont want to hijack this thread.
But mine does missfire with the gear in neutral and accelerating withOUT boost and ofcause with boost. same revs ! EVERTHING is new and adjusted.. besides the ign amp.. thats why I find it interesting. And I have had exactly that thought about the ign amp cause of my experience from work.

Jan< check u have correct voltage at the ignition amp and coil, may just be a wiring fault as these looms are getting old now

Could be something as simple as the amp getting hot and not disipating the heat well??? Has it ever been removed off the alloy heat sink????

If so theres prob no conductive paste on it???

Just a thought

As far as I know it have never been replaced or taken of the coolingplate! I just replaced it in my lunchbrake... hope it helps ) And there wasnt much paste behind the ampfiler.. and that is a good sign so far.
For several ressons I am sure my loom is relativly healthy I hope

The Paste is a vital part of this aasembly as it transfers heat from the amp to the alloy heatsink, you say your miss is while reving the engine in neutral,Is it like this always or just when a bit warm????

What Plugs you using and what they gapped to?????

When did the problem start??Had you changed anything??

Remember a NEW part can also be faulty so never assume cos its been replaced it is ok

I am aware of that the paste is there for some reason. An I did use it on the new one as well. Also did readjust (just to be sure) the cranksensor.

ALL sensors/and like have driven approx 1800miles (cts, cps, act, tps lambda, grp A coil, 3 different set of plug/and lead combined with each other). The problem as it is NOW, appeared just about 2-3 weeks ago. Before this I have had a kind of "stall" 3 times (last times 3 weeks ago) after a "high speed run" (nothing wild though) at 80-85 miles/hour for about 10-15 minuts. When lifting the pedal caused be getting closer to slower cars I couldnt pick it up again.. it misfires and had NO power keep the speed this last about 20 sec and they feel like a 100 years, and another time I drove straight in the side, waited for a couple of minuts and it drove like nothing has happend and now and before and at all times the car drives perfectly until it get to about 32-3500 revs and upwards it misfires, and again getting below these revs NOTHING is wrong.. lots of torque front zero and with low revs... city, up hill or cruisin.

The misfire.. feels like a misfire, but I can be ignition anywhere ells than at the correct cylinder, but anyhow that is to a misfires.. isnt it??
When this problem became a everyday thing , the only thing I did was replacing a my chip and injectors to get an easy MoT, and trying another P8 and L8 to get buy a at that time may be dead P8.. allthoug it was not dead.. it was my chip pooring fuel in the chamber. Now I run a NOT very old Collins330 for the Mot as said.

Yes.. new sensor can be faulty.. but not many sensor makes this fault I guess.. but wich one??

This problem is only when a little warm and fully warmed up.

The plugs at the moment is NGK bcpr7es 3 poled.. and they make the same result as the 071c or pp8&12 (all gapped to about .7-.8)

My rev-counter does NOT jump or like when this problem comes.

Hope you understand this

Jan,Do a compression test mate this could be possible head gasket blown????or get a sniff test done at your local garage to find out if you have exhaust gases in the header tank..............

Just a thought because you have changed all items that are electrical, maybe time to start looking at the engine itself???

On my stg 3 cossie my plug gaps were 0.6mm on escos pp8 plugs

So what i would do is set plugs at 0.6mm, and then a compression test.

They can be a pain i know i,ve 2 BUT keep with it
