hi guys,

i have a problem with my 1999 focus 1.8, the passenger side electric window goes down, but the window switch when pressed, but the switch does not work to put the window back up. I have to use the drivers side electric window switch to put the window back up.

I am annoyed about this as its recently happend, but my thinking is that it cannot be the mechnaisim of the window (motor etc) it must be the electric window switch on passenger side? any advice guys?

Just usually a bit of crap on the contatcs, either clean contacts or go to scrappies!!
FOCUS + MONDEOPART 01603 866999, if that is any good to you.

thanks tabetha, i take it i would have to take the door cards etc to get to the switch and clean the contacts?

also what do i clean it with just a clean cloth?

Never looked a a focus one, so would not like to say, but if same as mondy, then switch on passenger side should just prise out.
If you have rear electric windows you could always try one of those switches to make sure it is the switch.
If you can get it open by prising just use some old knackered emery cloth to clean contacts then coat with coppaslip afterwards.
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES USE GLASS PAPER to clean the contacts.
