I was hoping that someone could help me here.
what it is, is that the traction control light and the abs light stay on while driving. this only started this afternoon, and i am bit confused what this could be.
as stated my car is a 1998 escort gti 3dr, no mods etc.
if anyone could help then that woud be great.
cheers in advanced

the traction control and abs use the same sensors,
it will be one of the wheel sensors that is faulty, often the wires corrode away,
the hard part is finding which one it is,unless you have a scanner to plug into it!!

my old Si (same engine) used to do this , well abs anyway as no TC , it always did it when there was a lot of water about then stopped when it dried out , good starting point would be to dry all the sensor connectors and see if that fixes it , if so use some damp start stuff to seal them
also my airbag light used to go crazy if i went through a big puddle , typical ford electrics !

common on these cars, mine done it and then would go off for a few days and come back on again, as said above they are known to corrode, mine was rubbing tho.
Just stick a bit of black eletrical tape over the warning light on the dash and you wont see it
