I don't think his chances are as high as no chance, even less than no chance!!

Go "INTO"

Yes it will fit into a L8 or P8 chip socket no problem, identical configuration. It just wont run pal.

Also, if your messing with chips, ensure you put the chip in the right way around.

thank you Fordfriends .. just needed to be sure as I am trying to exclude some faults, thats why I in a micro sec. thought, maybe the chip could fit one way around (and run ofcause). But now I will just borrow another ecu.

P8 is ford eec,
Its not, its weber marelli mate.

P8 is way more powerful than L8 as well.
Its not really... its just a little faster with some more memory space.
Theres a lot of untrue speculation out there about P8 sadly.

My eyessight is going as I am getting old.
When are you going to do closed loop on L6 or is it never going to happen ? ie is it just not at all suitable ?

Its not really suitable as you would need teh additional memory expansion board and the motherboard populating with missing components too.

Point the chip so the notched end of the chip is the same end as the notch in the socket
