Escos Steering Creak
Hi,
When I turn the steering wheel on my escos at very very low speed or stationary, I get a creaking noise coming from the front.
Do I remember rightly this noise is caused by the bushes on the top of the strut and replacing them will solve the problem?
Also if it does solve the problem any particular ones I should get or are the normal ones from Ford ok?
Cheers
Ben

Will not be the bushes unless loose and worn as they effectively clamp a "cup" either side, under the lower cup piece is a bearing, which the strut turns on, or should anyway may be a bit sticky, I used to get a twang as the srping platform released all of a sudden when mine used to stick, so greased up bearings all ok now.

sounds like the top cup has broken, very common fault,if you remove the nut in engine bay, take off the strut top cover and look in the hole you will be able to see if the cup below is broken or not
just a quick note , mine did the same and the cup was broken
both cups and bearings were available from ford when mine went (3 years ago) and if i remember right they were quite cheap
