the only reason for useing an all steel bottom end is for strength. the standard rods don't like much more than bout 20 psi boost and so tend to be converted. unless the valves touch the piston tops the head should be fine. it probably won't realise it's full potential though without being able to run big boost but should still produce good results. hope that helps

as above, but also a "wild" cam will rev in excess of 7k but rev limiter on a rst is 6.5k and rods wont like 7kplus.if its wild enough it wont probaly come on song untill 4-5k then hit the limiter at 6,5k!i run a standard cam and 242bhp and 272lbft SCS recomended this to me.

Can i just ask the reasons behind wanting a CVH head with big valves, solid lifters, a "wild cam" as you put it to run with a standard bottom end and especially running only 13psi of boost?

Complete and utter waste of time mate

Well im asking you........

Thats a good £700+ worth your planning to spend, and if anything, it will make the engine worse to drive. You only need massive valves and stuff like that when you are wanting to run some serious power.

13psi of boost and a standard bottom end isn't a good combination to run with a top end spec like that!!
