erratic revving cosworth

erratic revving cosworth
Think this might be sensor related but wen my escot cosworth heats up th revs start to rise to about 2000rpm for a couple of seconds then dips back to normal for a couple of seconds.just keeps doin this for as long as it sits idle.any ideas wat th problem is and how to fix?
