Default help mk6 escort steering probs

Hi all my steering rack is cluncking when i wiggle he steering wheel i have checked the track rod ends out and there all fine, also my power steering pump is making a rattling noise and when i turn the steering wheel the engine revs drop by 300rpm and as soon as the rack clunks the revs return back to normal the pump also gets quite noisy when the revs drop, could this be a faulty pump or rack has anyone had this problem before Cheers Ben.

I aint got a clue how to check em mate basicly i have checked the track rod ends the little union joints on the steering colum all these are fine the cluncking is comeing from inside the stearing rack where the coloum goes in could the pump be doing this also when i change gear the car stears itself to the right also when im in a corner it will suddenly pull to the side its that bad ive nearly crashed a couple of times
Cheers Ben
