Default radiator

hi i was wondering i have a ford puma 1.7 16v and i know this is the same engine that goes into a fiesta i was wondering could some one please give me a detailed explanation of how to bleed the radiator please because i believe i have a pocket of air trapped in there, because the car overheats on a regular basis and when i check the radiator the top is warm and once i get about half way down it it turns ice cold.
cheers si
