went to wire in my new stereo in to my s2 rs escort and noticed that it dont have an iso connection jus S£$t loads of wires i got the car without a stereo so i have no idea which wire is which what has everyone else done to get round this please help me as its getting a little boring now jus listening to the engine

I always solder a ISO connection on, fuck cutting the plug off your stereo loom they are expensive to replace!

 

ok cheers dude but which wires go where sorry mate

 

Red = permenant 12v
Yellow = auxiliary 12v
Brown = earth
Red/White = power antenna feed
Grey/Yellow = illumination feed.

And then the speaker wires go in pairs.

So for example, there will be a pair with red stripes, a pair with brown stripes etc. Always a white and yellow wire in each pair, yellow is the + side IIRC

If so you can buy conversion leads

 

not too sure it jus has loads of wires with bullet connectors thats all im used to jus connecting a iso and running speaker cables through

yeah i no i have never come across this not even in my xr2 which was an 89 reg too why things cant jus be simple i dont no might jus take it to a place that fits them (not halfords though)

ahhh you shouldn't need one anyway i know those colours above are right.

The only thing which will take a bit of figuring out is which speaker is which.

If i remember correctly, theres 4 pairs, a white and yellow in each, one pair with red stripes, one pair with green stripes, a pair with black stripes and a pair with brown stripes.

And as i say the yellow is the positive

And lastly, when you buy an ISO plug, as obvious as it may seem, red doesnt connect red, and yellow doesnt connect to yellow
