Hey, this is my first post

I just bought a 94 1.3 lx fiesta with 50k on it, it runs and idles perfectly. But on longer runs it cuts out randomly when slowing down to a junction, (car just won't rev, like its ran outa petrol. then dies) it starts up then cuts out again, then starts and runs well again

Have just changed the plugs,fuel filter and air filter, any ideas what it could be?

Are you running it low on fuel when it happens?

 

no it now has a full tank, it was sittin for about 4 months before i bought it. don't think that would cause it

 

Possibly an air leak then.

Is that a single point injection engine?

 

yes its the cfi engine

 

Hmmmm, Ford carbs aint the greatest to be hobest with you

Check for air leaks etc but it could well be something internally ont he carb, and i know fuck all about carbs, and dont wish to learn either
