turbo chatter

Default turbo chatter

After an engine rebuild and a new actuator no problems for 7000 miles now i can here chattering when I lift off also a rattle that sound like a baffle has worked loose in the exhaust anyone have any ideas, thanks

Have you got a dump valve fitted?

If there's more boost than the dump valve can dump, you'll get a little bit of chatter - assuming you have a dump valve I get a bit on mine, even with an atmos. dv on

Yes I have a group A dump valve. I can hear it dumping and chattering at the same time. Thanks

Just don't lift.

But really, if it's overboosting and just had engine rebuilt, check your vacuum lines to the wastegate and make sure there hooked up properly and not leaking.

Edit to add:
Uh, just reread that 4000 and was okay. If new problem that was not there for the first 4K, it may be a bad wastegate actuator. Or already gone bad. But start with the easy.
