Default MK4 ESCORT CLUTCH QUADRANT MAJOR PROBLEMS..PLEASE HELP!!

I HAVE ANOTHER TURBO CAB AND EVER SINCE THE CAR WAS BUILT THE CLUTCH PEDELS BITING POINT IS RIGHT ON THE FLOOR, AS THE CAR GETS HOT AND HAS BEEN OUTFOR A HOUR OR SO, IT CAN BE NEAR ON IMPOSSIBLE TO DISINGUAGE THE CLUTCH

SO I CHANGED THE FLYWHEEL, NEW CLUTCH AND BEARING, NEW CABLE NEW PEDLE BOX, NEW QUADRANT................I LOOKED ON eCAT AT FORDS AND THEY LIST THAT THERE SHOULD BE A WHITE ONE FITTED NOT A BLACK ONE, SO BOUGHT THAT ONE AND FITTED IT AND NO WAY! THEY ARE DEFINATLY WRONG AS I CAN'T EVEN DISENGUAGE THE CLUTCH WITH THE WHITE ONE FITTED, SO HAVE HAD TO REFIT A NEW BLACK ONE........................

WHERE IS YOUR BITING POINT ON YOUR ESCORT TURBOS? EVERY OTHER ONE I HAVE IS ABOUT HALF WAY, I HAVE EVEN CHECKED THE FIESTA TURBO IN OUR WORKSHOP TO SEE HOW FAR THE CLUTCH ARM ON THE GEARBOX IS PULLED IN WHEN PEDLE FULLY DEPRESSED AND THE ESCORT ONE SEEMS LIKE IT NEEDS ANOTHER FEW MM PULLED?????????????

ANY IDEAS WILL BE GREAT, SPENT FAR TOO BLOODY LONG ON IT NOW !

THANKS
WEZ

Just to clarify........a MK3/Mk4 cab should have a BLACK 55mm quadrant fitted, a white one is smaller, 53mm IIRC.

A smaller quadrant will make the pedal lighter but need a greater throw to fully disengage the clutch, hence why smaller quadrants are fitted to lesser models which have smaller engines & clutches.

Have you considered doing a MK6 pedal conversion at all?

They can't even find the parts that were meant for the car half the time, let alone parts donored from a MK6 Escort
