Default battery dead

iv done the swap on my escort.. finally after few probs she runs
BUT
i got a new battery and she started after a few probz but nothing major now i hav had her ticking over for about half hour and when i turned it off n then tryed to restart the battery is nealy dead (turns ova but dies after a few turns!)... and also when she starts to get warm it doesnt like to start.. think this is linked to the same problem as thers not enuff UMPH to fire her up.. but jumping her she turns and fires quite good... odd time here and there she wont start but thats a differnt question for another day as im hoping its linked to this problem lol
thanks

Check the wiring running to alternator for shorts in the first instance then!

Have you played with any of the wiring at all
