Default series two clutch adjustment

After refitting my engine the clutch arm is right against the gearbox housing and i cannot press the pedal down.
how do i adjust it do i need to take the arm off the release lever or can i remove and refit the cable at the pedal and let the quadrant adjust itself?

Any help appreciated

Obviously you let the pedal tqake up the slack when you disconnected the cable at gearbox ? before the pedal.
Just shove a thin flat screwdriver between the quadrant and ratchet adjuster teeth and it will go ping and unadjust then a few pumps to self adjust on the pedal and all is well again.

Tabetha thanks for a speedy reply.
Removed ABS whilst engine was out and i think my assistant may have stepped on the clutch instead of the brake when we were bleeding them
