Default Cosworth 24v and mtx75 gearbox

Will the Cosworth 24v and mtx75 gearbox mate together, thinking of using the engine in an escort but mounted transverse. If I have to mount the engine with the mt75 gearbox then it wouldn't be worth it. As If I have to make the tunnel, I'll just use thye sierra cosworth engine!
cheers carl

I know about the space issue and will it fit etc, but this is a serious question.

hi,the v6 engine needs a different bolt pattern to that of a cvhengine,a cvh engine will mate to a mtx75 box im sure as my friend has 1 in an rs turbo,he had to mount the engine and box about 2 inches forward, making the thing not handle and front heavy!what year of escort are you planning on doing this to?it would be cool but a bit pointless,it definately wont handle well,it will be a nightmare to fit,the engine bay will need strengthened,it will wear tyres, suspension components like theres no tomorrow,it will hit the road when you go over a bump, get a cossie lump,rs turbo gearbox and fit that,it will be easier, and more practical, good luck whatever you do!
