really? i thought a rebuilt engine would help the figure stay where it is, or is supposed to be. i really dont know what the power is, just from work of mouth from the previous owner. Mods done are;

~T3 stage 3 hybrid BB turbo
~ - 31 Actuator
~Kent CVH25 cam
~Piper cams vernier pulley
~Stage 3 port and polish head
~Stage 3 Ecu with hearts and diamonds chip
~Denso iridium Spark plugs
~Full S/S scorpion exhaust system 3" from manifold
~Scorpion 4" rolled back box to go with system above
~Samco boost hoses and inter cooler pipes
~Chrome Rocker cover
~Polished charge carrier
~5th injector on charge carrier
~k&n Air filter

sounds like a decent set up. Lets just hope the garage that are sorting it are not the same kind of wankers as the last garage.

Deffo get it set up though mate, there must be an RS tuner local to you

havv what i mean is, you've bought this car second hand and it hasnt been all its cracked up to be, so based on that i would take the figures you were told with a pinch of salt aswell, you may get a pleasant surprise but the harsh reality is people will tell you anything to sell a car

yea your right safechav. thats my worry. i have to get it done anyway, so will let you all know the result soon. So far however, all the mods were there. obviosuly i cant see if its got a stage 3 ecu chip, but everything else seems to be as stated.

Will let you know in a couple of weeks!

re making a profit on it rebuilding old fords never makes anyone profit lol be prepared to cry when it comes time to sell like many others before you

yea i wish i knew more about fords when i bought the car. 200bhp at 8psi is kinda ridiculous, even though the car felt as fast as my 2.2vtec prelude :S, which has a proven 210bhp at crank.

as soon as its run in, im going to find out which is faster!

Also im sure there will be someone around looking for a car (hopefully some1 who doesnt really know to much about fords, i know, im not going to sell on this site lol) which is still resistered as a 1.3 for tax and insurance purposes but is fast enough to blow away all their mates. you know how it is when young drivers want to start off for their first car.

i wouldnt spend too much on it unless youre keeping it long term . end of the day its just a 1.3 and people looking to buy can be funny about things not having the rs badge

o.... they say its because of the running in oil, the pistons are making their new holes etc. aparently it needs 100miles or so then 10w40 can go in and aparntly itl be all good.

the propblem atm is that the ignition is very tempremental, sometimes it wont even tick over and then sometimes it just starts with a bit of help with the throttle. any idea what this is? cheers mate youve been a lot of help

What oil are they running in it

Could be an ignition fault, sounds more like an air leak to me though.

thin oils will slip past the piston rings, but to be honest they run on very thin oil anyway its a turbo motor after all

Mine had 0w40, or possibly 5w40 on a completely re-furbed engine and didn't smoke............

If the smoke is white, it's probably due to the de-coking. if it carries on, and it's blue, looks like you will need a new turbo, or someone has got their pistons/rings sizes incorrect

Hope it gets sorted
