Default Map Sensor Problem???

Following on from the following post:

https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=256522

No we have swapped the chips in the ecu's and found out that the car will run with the map sensor unplugged, but as soon as you plug it in the car cuts out, so thinking it was a faulty map sensor we changed it for another 3 bar we got and weve still the same problem, will run with it unplugged but not with it plugged in???

anyone any ideas ??? as this is proper doin our nut in now and everywhere we ring either blatently wont give us advice or just fob us off....

Please PF users chuck some ideas at us as we cant get the car anywhere even for them to look at

Many Thanx - Adi

an ofab map sensor is only a 2 bar similar but not the same as a standard cossie 1. will only read up to 1 bar of boost which
ofac is a 2.5 bar i think.
they are not interchangable & a ofab ecu cannot run a 3 bar with a plug in chip. don't think it will run 1 at all.
by using a 3 bar you've completely fucked up the fueling. by unplugging it the ecu goes into LOS or limp home mode which is why it runs.

leave the 3 bars for cosworths

the map sensors used where both from frst's and both were ofab 1's so i dont think weve fooked anything up with regards to fuelling,
so it would run in limp home mode with the map sensor unplugged ???

if so would you advise trying another map sensor...

u stated u used a 3 bar though
if they are standard working map sensors then try the coolent temp sensor or the air charge temp esp if you've used a 2i inlet as the sensor looks identical but is different

Yes sorry Ian my Bad,

The car developed this problem when competing at totb, the car was running fine b4 this ???
he uses the frst inlet mate, but could it still be one of them sensors ????

he's had a kriptontune bloke out and we think he was a waste of time as he kept tryin to pinpoint the problem on things that were working, in the end he told us the ecu was blank ??? but as the above weve tried mine and still the same ????

Thanx for your time M8,

Adi
