Default Battery question/light

Right got my car back on road there , now fitted a new alternator and bought a new battery also , now my greif is , now dont know if this is a problem now when i turn key to start car my battery light stays on and battery voltage is just above 12volts with engine running , now i give it a bit of throttle light goes out and shoots up to way over 13volts think about 13.9 roughly anyway its annoying me lol

Now the main one is when out at night , if i brake or put window up or down i can see my battery light slightly glowing faintly , and can see it glowing most of the time at night but more so when i do the above , why is this and is it anything to worry about , dont want my battery going flat etc

Thanks

Do a volt-check @ the alternator itself, as it could be the leads breaking down, or the alternator could have shat itself.

If the volts stay low until reved, then either the blue ind. wire is not connected, or the diode pack is shot.

Rab....remove the blue wire to back of alty and replace the boot type connection....i had a very similar problem and found that there were only a few strands of this wire left but took ages to find prob as it was inside the rubber boot....

the whole charging system will not work without the blue wire mate.

it comes from behind the light on the dash i think.

the system is simple enough mate.

It will work without the blue wire, the charge circuit will "self generate" until it exceeds the diode capacity, and the diode pack "leaks" current past. This normally happens about 2k rpm.

The ind. wire simply makes this an automatic circuit control.
