Default S2 Turbo-Intermittant non starter

[b] Hi, I'm new to the site, so nice to meet you all!
Anyway can anyone help? I have a 1990 S2 turbo which sometimes will not start, turns over but no spark. As soon as you let go of the key you get a spark! Ignition is fine normally, and if you push start it it runs no probs, but whilst turning over there is no spark. Whilst in this state, when you let go of the key the fuel pump has been enegising (Like it does when first turning ignition on) 3 or 4 times in a row, once it even stayed on pumping until I turned off the ignition!
I have changed the ecu, and the coil but other than a loose connection which I know will be a bitch to find, has anyone had this fault?
Cheers for any help
Chris

you could have a faulty ignition switch.instead of using the key try hot wireing it from the back of the switch, by that i mean bridge the live with the ignition wire until you get ignition lights and then bridge the live with starter wire and see if she starts that way.if so then the internals in the switch are suspect

Yeah thanks for that m8, you were the second person to suggest that, unfortunately it did not work. I don't actually have the ford ignition switch on my car, because my ignition runs through a relay, and I have a push button start. But I did something else to bypass the ignition start, I turned on the ignition to what would be position 2 and connected 12v to the starter solonoid and she still wont start! When the ignition is on the car will push start but something is happening when the starter motor is turning over. Also what happened at one point today whilst not touching anything but with the ignition on, every few seconds the fuel pump kept energising.
Still puzzled!
